Pots

All pots are Italian terra cotta and are a variety of sizes and shapes. They are handpainted with acrylic paint or decoupaged and given several coats of varathane. Pots are also well sealed on the interior since terra cotta is absorbent and the painted exterior could become water damaged over time. The varathane is spar which is traditionally used on boats. It has UV protection so the paint will retain its vibrant colors whether used indoors or outside.

I had an idea to do handpainted flower pots several years ago when we lived in Honolulu but it didn't happen at that time. I'm actually grateful that things didn't work out then because I don't think I would have done as good a job. Some are painted and then decoupaged with decorative fabric which has been waterproofed. I have a vintage California fruit crate label collection, the chalkboard frames collection and an assortment of other designs. You know how we always forget what we've planted in which pot? With the chalkboard pots you can write what your seedling is right on the pot as soon as you plant the seed!
